Emma Cantor, M.D.

Dr. Cantor grew up in Pullman, Washington before earning her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis where she majored in Biology and Anthropology. She then went on to earn her medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. She completed her pediatric residency at Seattle Children’s Hospital and her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Following her fellowship, she worked for an additional year as an attending physician on the Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor Team at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and she was awarded a St. Baldricks Fellowship Award for her research on how osteosarcomas (bone cancers) develop in children.

Dr. Cantor’s interest in Alaska started as a young child when she accompanied her father to villages across Alaska each winter as he worked as the sled dog veterinarian for the Iditarod Trail and other sled dog races. She moved with her husband, an adult interventional and structural cardiologist, and young daughter, to Alaska in 2024 and began working with Alaska Pediatric Specialties. She is greatly enjoying serving the children and families of Alaska.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Cantor enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, biking, and skiing with her family and her dog.
