Dr. Gregory Semancik is a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist who has been practicing in Alaska since 2010 after retiring from the US Army. Edward Hébert School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). He completed his pediatric residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA and then served in the US Army as a general pediatrician at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany for 3 years before doing his pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Semancik has always enjoyed taking care of children and has always found the conditions of the

gastrointestinal system to be fascinating. He enjoys that his specialty allows him to do procedures, when indicated, to further investigate his thoughts about a patient and enjoys that his specialty allows him to interact closely with providers in many different medical specialties. He mostly enjoys getting to know his patients and their families as people and trying to make them better in terms of their medical condition. Outside of work, Dr. Semancik enjoys spending time with his family and dogs in Alaska and his children and their families in Arizona. He is passionate about all things hockey, especially the Boston Bruins, and still plays. He also enjoys working in the yard, skiing, traveling, and exploring Alaska. Having done so twice already, he has proven that he is terrible at retiring.
