Dr. Michael Malandra is a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist who made his way to Alaska in 2020. Dr. Malandra hails from upstate New York and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, Erlanger Children’s Hospital. Subsequently, he ventured to Chicago, Illinois, where he pursued a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Following his fellowship, Dr. Malandra continued his journey in Chicago as a faculty member at Lurie Children’s before embarking on a new adventure in Alaska.
Dr. Malandra has an unwavering passion for all things related to the gastrointestinal system and appreciates the diverse pathologies that pediatric gastroenterology presents. He is eager to share his expertise and enthusiasm, ensuring the well-being of Alaska's children for years to come. When he's not immersed in gastrointestinal matters, he is an enthusiastic hiker and a connoisseur of all types of skiing. His faithful husky companion, Io, is never far from his side!
